The Strater Hotel is adorned with beautiful handcrafted woodwork, period wallpaper, and the largest collection of American Victorian walnut antiques which are used to decorate the hotel and guestrooms. The Strater was operated for 95 years by the Barker family, and is now owned by Ross Garrett and family. We invite you to experience the best of the Old West and an iconic Durango, Colorado hotel. There are multiple restaurants and bars on premise at The Strater, and as a bonus - there is live music every night!
Group Levels
You will have 1 class that focuses on stretching and flexibility with all 3 skill groups combined, but all of the other 9 classes will be with your designated group for the week. If you aren’t quite sure which group is right for you, shoot us an email and we’ll be happy to help you select the group that will give you the greatest experience possible!
Choosing your level is first and foremost about your safety, we want to ensure you are in workshops that will challenge you, and help you achieve your pole goals, while making sure you are safe and confident. Please make sure you meet the minimum pre-requisites for the level you select, though we certainly understand that everyone has different strengths and weaknesses. Perhaps you pop into Rainbow Marchenko or Spatchcock with ease, but you’re still working on building your strength on dynamic elements - or on the flip side, perhaps you’re a flippin’ machine (see what we did there hehe) and can throw some crazy Ayesha tricks and re-grips, etc. but your front split resembles more of an “L” than a split - that’s OK. Our world-renowned instructors will be able to provide modifications for additional difficulty, or scaled down difficulty depending where your strengths and weaknesses lie.

What’s Included in Your Retreat
All Packages
All 3 retreat packages include the following:
-
All packages include 10 core curriculum workshops that are 90 minutes in duration each over the 7 day retreat. You will have 8 pole workshops, 1 stretching/flexibility workshop, and 1 handstands/calisthenics workshop, taught by our 4 fabulous instructors:
Dineke Minten
Gaby Borrayo
Cezary Dymkowski
Louisa Lopez
9 out of your 10 classes will be separated by the 3 skill levels listed above and you will stick with your chosen group level for the duration of the retreat, while the stretching and flexibility workshop will contain all retreat participants together.
Each group will have 10 participants, and our studio venue, Durango Pole Dance, has 8 poles that are 14’ tall - so there will be minimal sharing, but do expect to share with another classmate or instructor as needed.
You will have classes on 5 days, with 1 free day built in to the schedule, on which you can participate in our optional group Ski/Snowboard/Tubing trip, or simply for some R&R amidst an intense week of poling. You will not have classes on the day of arrival or the day of departure (unless you select to add-on private lessons with any of our instructors who have availability on that day).
-
Welcome Dinner
All retreat members are invited to join us for a Welcome Dinner that will be held on the evening of Tuesday December 1st after all group’s workshops have been completed for the day. This is a great opportunity to mix and mingle and meet the retreat participants that may not be in your designated workshop group, enjoy some great food, and share your goals for the retreat and beyond. Your dinner meal + 1 alcoholic beverage will be included, + unlimited non-alcoholic beverages. Additional alcoholic beverages may be purchased at your leisure.
Farewell Dinner
On our final evening of the retreat, Sunday December 6th we will host a multi-course feast to celebrate all of the hard work, wins, laughs, fails, and new friendships made throughout the retreat! The venue and menu options will be announced closer to the beginning of our retreat, but your multi-course meal + 3 alcoholic beverages are included in your package + unlimited non-alcoholic beverages.
This is our final party, and one you will not want to miss! There will be tons of giveaways and raffle prizes from our sponsors, and don’t forget to pack your best holiday frocks to help us kick off the holiday season in style.
-
On the afternoon of our 3rd day of workshops, Thursday December 3rd, we will be taking a trip to the unbelievable natural outdoor Durango Hot Springs Resort! Here we will spend a few hours soaking in the mineral rich waters to soothe our sore muscles, reminisce on our favorite combos from camp so far, get to know one another a little better, and rejuvenate for the remainder of the retreat.
Durango Hot Springs Resort is located above some of the most naturally healing waters in the world. The distinctive blend of 32 minerals bubbles up from within the Earth and fills over 40 soaking pools with water temperatures between 99-112 degrees. Absent of any sulfur smell, you can breathe in the clean mountain air among the ponderosa pines and soak in the unique mix of minerals characteristic of Durango Hot Springs.
Durango Hot Springs Resort + Spa, in Southwest Colorado, is the first hot spring in the world to utilize the AquaGen water system to infuse all pools with nano-meter and micro-meter oxygen bubbles. Oxygen is the life in our bodies that is normally carried through our bloodstream. Not only will the oxygen be infused into the blood to enhance its ability to oxygenate our brain and heart but also will be infused through the dermis of the skin to help repair skin disorders and scaring tissues to rebuild and improve. Antimicrobial by nature, these oxygen bubbles provide unparalleled cleanliness to the waters without introducing any foreign substances or chemicals. Come soak in these waters as Mother Nature intended and enjoy the various health benefits the minerals and oxygen provide.
Transportation to and from the resort will be provided from The Strater Hotel. For those that select the “no-lodging” package, you will either need to find your way to the hotel to hop on the shuttle, or if you prefer, you may meet us at the resort at the designated time determined.
-
You are in for a serious treat with this one, on one of our retreat evenings (date TBD), you will enjoy an arts and crafts class led by the incredibly talented Anastasiia Nekrasova! Ana is an amazing artist and teacher and you will be making an ornament or painting to take home as a souvenir. This activity is of course, optional, but we highly encourage you to attend!
Check out some of Ana’s artwork here!
-
Last, but not least - don’t forget to leave room in your suitcases for your official Swag Bag filled with goodies from our sponsors and some retreat branded gear!
Accommodation Inclusive Packages
If you select one of the packages including accommodations, you will get all of the above inclusions in addition to the following:
-
Depending which package you select, you will have 7 nights of lodging at The Strater hotel in downtown Durango, Colorado in either a single or double room from November 30, 2026 - December 07, 2026. Check In begins at 4:00 PM on Nov 30th and Check Out is available until 11:00 AM on Dec 7th.
The hotel is dripping with historic charm of the wild west, has multiple restaurants and bars on site with live music every day!
Single rooms will have either 1 Queen OR King sized bed and private bathroom, while Double rooms will have 2 Full OR Queen sized beds and a private bathroom.
The hotel is situated conveniently in the downtown area of Durango, close to tons of shops, restaurants, and attractions.
The studio is approximately 2.8 Miles away from the hotel, but both the hotel and the studio positioned just a block or 2 from the bus stops on the charming Durango Downtown Trolley Public Transit Route. We will have a passenger van as well in case the transit timetables don’t align with our schedule so do not fear about getting around!
-
For those staying at The Strater with us, there will be a breakfast buffet consisting of both hot and cold options, as well as coffee, tea, and select juices each morning, Tuesday December 1st through Sunday December 6th hosted in one of the Strater’s private event rooms for our retreat group only.
Please note that breakfast on check-out day is not included in your package, but there are tons of options for local eats and coffee within walking distance.
-
As mentioned above, the studio is about an 8 minute drive from the hotel, and situated directly on one of Durango’s Public Transit routes. Your package will include a week-long transit pass, and the transit stops are only 1 - 3 blocks from both the hotel and the studio, with trolleys running every 20 minutes.
Though there are closer hotel options to the studio, upon collecting copious feedback from seasoned pole retreat attendees, we decided to choose a hotel that had more to offer in the way of food, drinks, activities, and convenience to other restaurants, coffee shops, attractions, etc.
Of course, the transit schedule may not align with your group’s workshop schedule, but fear not - we will have a 12-passenger van or something similar to transport y’all between the hotel and the studio or additional workshop venues. A shuttle schedule will be posted once we lock down the finalized retreat workshop schedule.
If you really get into a pickle, you can give Kyra or Amanda a call and we’ll come rescue you :D
Our Optional Add-Ons
Check out some of the optional offerings and activities in addition to everything mentioned above. If you choose to book and participate in any of these, please note that there will be an additional cost associated. The nitty gritty details of these options will be finalized closer to the start date of the retreat, but we wanted to share what will be available to you!
-
